5 a day is good for pups

Mick says that fruit is good to chew on. I have tried pear, apple and tangerine, though I would not rush back to that one.

The old man gets excited when he sees me in his veg plot particularly when I am near his leeks. He has some golden wonder tatties in the ground, Charlie tells me that when they are being harvested any that fall in our direction are fair game for us. I suppose it is a bit like a sausage falling off the BBQ.

I was nearly swimming yesterday paddled in up to my chest in the duck pond Charlie makes it look so easy we will see what the weekend brings.

Sunday 15 August 2010

Hi Folks. Mick here.

What a weekend I have had, Friday the 13th was unlucky for the local woods as that was my first venture into them. They were all that Charlie had told me, full of dog scent, wild animal scent strange people.

I had an encounter with a wooden bridge, I could see flowing water below it I was not very sure about crossing this but my pal Charlie said "what are you waiting there for? there's loads more to see and do over here" so off I went.

As a matter of fact I have now been over these bridges several times now over the weekend they are just a walk in the park!!!!!.
We had BBQ Saturday and Sunday this weekend, Charlie told me to watch out usually dad drops a sausage off the BBQ, I am not to dive in and eat it straight away as it will be too warm, usually the old man will pick it up put it to the side let it cool and then feed, great!!!!!.

It's Quiet Here Tonight

I had the dogs at work tonight but the girls didn't get much of a look in as Diesel was busy making a show of the big dogs. First session he was assessed for his Good Citizen Puppy Foundation and passed with flying colours, major proud mummy. In the second class we did a mock Bronze assassment and I am stunned, he was only there for socialisation but would easily have passed and was much better than most ofthe big dogs. I am so over the moon, a couple of weeks ago I was struggling to get his attention in class and now he is just a dream to work with.

Will get a pic of him with his certificate over the weekend.

Gill

P.S. he also had a quick turn in Ringcraft and stood, all be it not very still, and then moved really well

Diesel

Hi Folks

Sorry we've not been on in a wee while its been busy here. Diesel is comming on really well and is now the model pupil at puppy class to the extent that he is now their poster boy lol (see attached pic with his pal Tessie and their trainers).

We went to the beach to have a bit of a puppy get together for those that could make it on Saturday. It was lovely to see the puppies playing together, and their older half brother Rubels tried to bury Scout and Diesel in a hole he dug, and he nearly suceeded lol. Then we had a picnic and a quick training session. Must start planning the next get together lol.

Sunday was my first judging appointment and a really fab day. Diesel had a great time socialising and practicing his training while I was judging. Everyone thought he was lovely and a few actually knew what breed he was, big step forward from the guy in the pet shop who thought he was a Cavalier (he was 6wks).

Anyway best get off and do some housework before he wakes up.

Hope everyone is enjoying their puppies

Forgot to add

Trio was also weighed he weighs 11.3 kilos and we thought he was little!

Trio Update

Trio went for his first walk on the beach yesterday. He dug a hole, briefly drank seawater and asked the ultimate question:

Have I got something on my nose?
He got a fright when the tide came in.

diesel [previously arrow]

Last week we took Diesel to my Bro and Sis in Law for a BBQ. Check out the 'Gundog' pose!! He was so well behaved we took him to the beach today which was great fun. It took him 10 minutes to learn to walk on a lead at our heel, after that Diesel and Charlotte ripped up the beach! He was really tired but at 12.2kg you know when you have to carry him. He's a super lad!

3rd puppy class

We are having great fun at puppy class. We had no sooner got settled last night and Logan screamed the place down, rushed him outside where he went pee and poo as soon as I gave command - very good but I wish he had a quieter method of letting me know he needed to go - you'd have thought he was being murdered the noise he made.

Back inside and we went through our lead manners - no lunging, pulling or dragging behind to sniff (hmm, need more practice on the last). Sitting and waiting until told to go say hello and then a recall (with help from the lead if necessary). Then a sit, wait and go play (off lead) followed by recall. Next was a huge task as we had 3 pups at each end of the hall and we had to walk on a loose lead up and down between each other, keeping pups attention on handlers and not playmates. Good fun and Logan was pretty good considering he's the youngest there.
We had a little fun then and had to go through a hula hoop in both directions - aced this as all the boys do it at home. The next exercise was a little more difficult as it was go to bed - my fault entirely as when he goes to bed at home he pops in his crate - must practise with carpet square or similar before next week.
Next came sit/down stays followed by down stay with a treat in front - he managed to restrain himself for about 10 seconds, must work harder on training this.
Class ended with 2 pups doing recalls the full length of the hall at the same time - 1st go and Logan shot after the choc lab pup :( but on the 2nd he came flying towards me and when I lifted my hands to give the sit signal he slipped on his bum, ended up in heap on the floor, rolled on his back and had a good wriggle, followed by a tummy rub before he sat for a treat.
I think he enjoys puppy class :)

wow logan you are a large munsterlander!!! bet your mum happy you can go down now. feel sorry for the silver pals you have now they must think you are a bruiser!!! glad you had brill time at vet they are nice really.

Logan the large!!

Went to the vet today. Had loads of cuddles from everybody when the lady took me to the scales. She told mum I'm 11.5kg and mum said it was just as well she'd be able to let me walk everywhere soon as I'm getting a bit of a lump to carry - cheeky mum!

The vet was very nice and I liked licking and sniffing him and whacking him on the head with my waggy tail. He gave me lots of fuss and sent mum home with tablets for me and the greys to take in the morning - hope they taste nice but doesn't matter if they don't because I'm going to scoff mine really quickly so nobody else gets a look in. I'm not really a gannet I just love food. Hope all you pupsters are doing as good as me.

Love'n'licks, Logan xx

First Walk

HI folks

just a quick post for now as we are heading out to puppy class in a few minutes. Diesel went out for his first proper walk this afternoon with Rubels (half brother to our puppies and just 9wks older than them). So thought I would post a couple of pics my 5yr old son took.
How do you get the pics not to go to the top everytime?

Monday 2 August 2010

Hi, 11am suits us too, from Fraser, Steve and Diane
11 am fine for us here.

arent all the pups looking great. The pics of logan are just fab, what a great time he is having with his new mum and pals. He looks great and mum and the kids had a great laugh looking at them. she really does love your stories and pics about us all as she still misses you but knows you all have fantastic homes with great mums and dads.
On a more imprortant note, we got taken to the vet again. the big dogs told us stories about that place but we think they were just being horrible to scare us as its great really. the ygve you treats and cuddles and are all brill. the vet we got today love us as she was on call the night we were born and she helped our mum paws a lot to have us and make sure we were all ok. she is called gayle and is nice. we got our second jag and some stuff on the back of our neck that does lots of things like worms and fleas, yuck we dont have things like that i am sure !!!! anyway just incase we got it donw and we got a microchip too so jason says if we go to tesco we will beep. cool!!!!

Puppy walk

Would 11am suit everyone for Saturday morning?

Diesel
Hi Gill and Nicky, it's Steve and Diane here, Fraser's dad and mum, Saturday sounds good for us lot for beach walk, Fraser's going for a run in his car again today, we're trying to get him used to travelling, will keep in touch..

Puppy Beach Walk

Hey Folks

Gill Diesels owner here. I've just spoken to Nicky, she would have posted herself but she is at the vets with Jedda and Scout getting their second jags.

We are planning on heading for tentsmuir on Saturday, will that suit you Fraser (sorry dont know your humans names)? If any others feel like comming you would be more than welcome, but I suspect you are all a little far away for a day trip.

I was just through all the pups earlier and their new names and where they are now. Are we all on here now? Nicky did you say one of the pups had a lovely new home in Ireland? I dont remember anyone saying that is where they are. Maybe you could put together a post with the pups pics and names in the litter beside their new name and an up to date pic.

Anyway time for Diesel's lunch so best get a move on.

Gill

Logan might be bright - shame about me!

Here are the missing pictures from the previous post - I told you I was rubbish with computers!!!

Diesel

Hi folks

Lovely to hear from everyone. We were at a fun day yesterday, it was really good fun apart from the border terrier that tried to eat me (mind u i'd have a complex if I had to wear a silly collar like that too lol) so Auntie Ellie came out with me cos she looks after me. I also got to meet Uncle Nevis (paws and Ellies younger half brother) hes even bigger than Auntie El!

I watched El do some agility, it was really funny cos she was busy watching the birdies and pretending she had never done agility b4, oh and mum slipped on the grass and landed on her bum! Was weird tho because lots of people I had never met were recognising me they said my picture was on facebook (dont know what that is oit got me lots of cuddles).

I am really looking forward to going to this beach walk can we go soon? Mum says we are going on a ferry on Sunday as she is judging a show at Dunoon so we are all going to go along and have a day out.

Busy Logan

Logan has been out and about, meeting and greeting. He's adored by the people he meets and loves the animals!

Been to 2 puppy classes and he is doing really well. Fab recall which I am so pleased about. He's enthusiastic especially when there are treats to be had and has managed sit and down to the count of 10. Down with a treat in front is a little harder! He tries very hard to walk to heel and does a very nice 'close' (sit at the left). He loves running through the tunnel that the class ends with.

He's quite a talkative boy which I find amusing as the short hair grey boys just walk away from him when he starts. He and the hairy horror, Herne, are already accomplices in crime - they were running around the garden with a bit of waste pipe they'd pulled off the wall!

We're off to the vet tomorrow for final jab, plenty of cuddles and to sign up for their puppy socialisation classes - can't get enough socialisation at this age!

Love to all xx
Trio Update
Hi everyone, good to hear from you all. the whole family are off this week, was this a good idea??? Trio is great, he is sleeping really well and doing all he needs to do in the garden! We are off to the vets today for final jabs and microchip. We can't wait to get out and about as Trio is far too heavy to carry for long. He seems to have got much taller. We know he's bigger as he can't squeeze through the cat flap any more! He's good at being left for a little while, he waits for his human grandparents to pick him up. He loves their garden especially as they've got a puppy ( Freddie) next door. They are slowly attempting to dig their way through mto meet up more permanently! We'll put more photos on asap

Sunday 1 August 2010

Hi all, Fraser here again, just to say that I hope you have all had a fab weekend, I had some visitors at my house today, I got admired and cuddled and wagged my tail a lot..
I would really like to meet up with family and friends and go for a run on the beach, any weekend is good for me except the weekend of the 21st August cos dad has to take this silly pager thing home with him from work, he's been moaning about it already!
I'm going back to the vet's for my second jags, microchip and worming on Tuesday, not really looking forward but will be glad to get it all over and done with,
Will be in touch about the beach run,
Fraser ;-)

Stan aka Pawprint

Well here we go, eventually got round to getting my new family to show off to everyone.Yes thats me Stan I am in the rabbit cage and guess what I found a cat hiding in there and the rabbit is out in the garden. (It looks like lots of things to play with here).

I have been at my new home just over a week now and settling very well, I have gained 2 new brothers, Sid the german shepherd(he thinks he is the boss), Bert the small Jack Russell (my best playmate) and a sister Maisie another Jack Russell(I dont think she is as keen on me as she is a bit grumpy and likes her own space). There is also a cat and a rabbit.

I have been to my new school twice now and am learning lots of new things and meeting new playmates, they all want me to behave myself (no chance yet). We have got a padling pool thats good fun I can jump in then run into the house and get everywhere wet, I think I am helping washing the floor.Another new trick I have learnt is if I jump up at the bin and pull it over I can empty it all over the floor.
We all keep looking to see how all of my brothers and my sister are doing, we all seem to have been very lucky getting good homes and nice new families I hope we all stay in touch and maybe we can meet at sometime,I am going to the open day show in Spilsby later this month are any of you coming?.Well its time for sweet and bed now look forward to seeing your new blogs Stan.
