we will be down but not till friday for scottish junior team agility. logans dad will be at crufts and being shown, maureen gray from scotland will be there showing too she bred paws from her bitch to my dog. wendy lacy is a lovely womanshe is good to talk too , mention me. also john and fiona mcgregor have a hlf brother to the pups he will be there too so lots of folk to look out for.

Crufts

Is anybody going?

My younger daughter is coming down from Nottingham to pup sit for the day - she sort of knows what she's letting herself in for - I'll give the boys breakfast so she can have a bit of a lay in although I have feeling once I've left the house they'll join in the dawn chorus!

I'm torn between the LMC and Weimaraner ring, just as well they're fairly close together so I can run between!

Will LMC have a breed/rescue stand ringside?

The tufty one

is not amused!! He really wants to keep his tufts and throws himself on his back to try and avoid me getting at them! It's like wrestling with a crocodile as he throws himself around rolling and leaping like crazy! Considering he lays quietly between my legs with his paws in the air to have his nails trimmed I'm at a loss for the moment. Perhaps I'll wait until he's had a very long run and is too tired to do act the loon. Will let you know how we get on.

tufty

the black hair always goes tufty. give it a pull it needs to come out. same with the top knot they get. maybe gill will send a pic of auntie ellie - she is paws sister and always has tufty bits that i always end up pulling lol. she is very black and white just like logan.

Daft question??

Does the black hair grow quicker than the white? Or is it just that the white is the undercoat and therefore flatter to the body? Logan's black bits are longer and fluffier than the white on his body. Looks like 'just got out of bed hair' - the chiropracter commented on how cute his 'tufty' bits were and a few people we've met on walks have remarked on it.

Logan

Must be the naughtiest pup of the litter, either that or he's so intelligent he pretends to be be naughty! He loves all the praise (and treats) he gets for getting things right but is so easily distracted it's not often my pocket is empty after a training session. He would much rather run than walk and heelwork is still very poor, resorted to a head collar to see if that would help and while there is a little improvement he still launches himself all over the place - walking near a road is a danger to both of us as he seems unable to help himself if a leaf or bit of rubbish should blow around - he just has to chase it. I don't like using the head collar as it pulls his head round and I'm worried that the speed he launches himself he's going to burt his neck.

Had Sarah, the doggie chiropracter, to the house last week and all the boys had a 'tweak'. Logan had a lot of stiffness in one shoulder, the side with the biggest elbow lump and Sarah said that massaging that area regularly might help disperse the fluid. She also agreed with Greg, the vet we saw last month, that loads of exercise would wear him out so he wouldn't dig up or eat his bedding.

As far as bedding is going, I decided to trust him and left him in the kitchen with a basket filled with a foam pad topped with 3 large pieces of vet bed while I caught up with some work. An hour later and he was in the bed complete with the door mat (missing a chunk) and the runner which had definitely run after he'd had a nibble - it had unravelled like a ball of wool!!

As far as his lumps go, they seem to soften after exercise and then firm up again - could be due to the way he throws himself about aggravating them. The only way to make sure he has plenty of cushioning while he rests is to pop him in his crate (also means our home stays in one piece).

Diesel sounds likes he's coming along really well - obedience training!!! Hope his elbow doesn't cause him any problems, it seems that although unsightly they don't hurt which is a good thing.

Better stop here and get ready for our run on the beach - fabulous for free running and I can see where the not so little tinker is!

Love to you all.

Diesel

Hi folks

Diesel is comming on well, he's about the same height as Auntie Ellie now but still needs to put on a lot of weight lol. We are hoping to have a go at our GCDS Bronze on Friday night should be fine but you never know what will happen on the night lol. He has also started competitive obedience training, he is showing a real talent for it and is a real pleasure to learn with. We are really lucky that one of our friends is an obedience judge and a real expert on munsters, her current boy is just getting ready to start competing in a few months time.

How are Logan elbows doing these days? One of diesels has come up so we have covered the hall floor in dog beds so he has to lie on them instead of the hard floor at night silly boy.

Noisy boys

Logan very rarely shuts up! I've even threatened him with the milk train back up north (only joking Nicky) but it makes no difference. He loves the sound of his own voice and will chatter, chirrup and warble quite happily for ages. If I should have the cheek to leave him in his bed and pop outside he can howl for Britain, even the postman recognises his 'call'. When I get back in he pouts his lips and woofles (cross between woof and yodel) while bouncing around on his back legs.

He's a little tinker as he always wants the last word and if I tell him 'shush' he's quiet until I'm distracted and then has another little woofle - think he's learnt that from Herne as he does it too!

He has the most expressive face while he's chatting and I find it very difficult not to laugh which I just know would encourage him to do it all the more!

I just love him to bits, even when I'm cursing at the amount of muck I have to clear off the kitchen worktops, walls, cupboards and cooker after he's checked them out on his way in from a romp in the mud - gave up on the floor a while back!

wierd noises

yep they do make wierd noises its like singing but simon cowell might not agree lol. they sort of bark cry and howl all at once, we often have conversations with paws although she is probalby being cheeky to us. her dad kai was very noisy and loved to have his opinion heard.

Stan. (paw print)

Hello all
Update on Stan the man, now in working trial training. Stan is extremely handsome just like his dad, markings are almost the same. Although I think we are bias!
Stan loves to go to the hydro pool, a real water baby! He has just taken to sitting on the sofa , bum only !
On Saturdays he has a tracking lesson, on Sundays he has his group training, Monday swimming lessons, every day he go to the beach or to the woods, the rest of the time he plays with Sid, Masie and Bert, sometimes he chews anything he gets his teeth into, including my glasses! At about 8pm, if were lucky he crashes out (and so do we ! )
It's lovely to hear that all the pups are happy and doing very well.
Do they make weird noises?
